Bethel Lutheran Church
Other Ministries Supported by Bethel
In addition to Bethel's ministries to its own members through education
and worship and through its Stephen
Ministry, Bethel supports numerous other ministries both near and far. They include:
- Bethel Lutheran School, our Christian day school for
all elementary-age children, whether members of Bethel Church or not;
- The ELCA, the national Church body through
which we support educational and missionary activities worldwide;
- Lutheran Campus Ministry, led by Rev. John Lottes, which Bethel supports by
providing the Campus Ministry Center building at 7019 Forsyth Boulevard, and in other
ways;
- Lutheran Family and Children's Services, which we support both financially and
through Bethel House;
- The Lutheran Hospital and Jail Ministry, led by Bethel member Rev. Norman Dake;
- The Lutheran High Schools of greater St. Louis (North and South),
which Bethel supports both financially and by sending our children there;
- The Council of Lutheran Churches;
- The Metro St. Louis Coalition;
- Immanuel Lutheran Church in inner-city St. Louis;
- Valparaiso University, an excellent liberal
arts and professional university in northwestern Indiana;
- Lutheran Human Relations Association of America;
- Lutheran World Relief;
- Lutheran Special Education;
- Crossings, a ministry of theological
education for lay people, co-founded by Bethel member Rev.
Dr. Ed Schroeder;
- ...and more that I don't even know about.
